Children’s Summer Reading Program 2017 – “Build a Better World”

Can you read for 40 days this summer?

This year’s Children’s Summer Reading Program will include a reading challenge and a special puppet show performance on July 21.

Summer Reading Challenge

Each day you will need to read or listen for 20 minutes. The summer reading challenge starts June 5 and ends on July 31.  All children up to 5th grade can participate.  Visit the Children’s Department at the library to sign up for the challenge.  When you sign up, you will receive a reading tracker to keep track of the days as you read towards your goal.  For each 10 days of reading or listening that you complete, you will win a prize!

Rocky Mountain Puppets Show

Join Meghan Casey & Rocky Mountain Puppets as they teach us that knowledge is power in their performance “Building a Better You!”  Children of all ages are invited to attend this fun, educational performance in the Roadrunner Room at the library on July 21 at 12 p.m.  The Friends of TBML were especially excited to sponsor this show, as it ties in perfectly to this year’s summer reading program theme: “Build a Better World.”

All of the events and activities are FREE.  If you have any questions, please contact the Children’s Department at 575-528-4225.

The puppet show and summer reading program materials were paid for by the Friends of Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.
